Present:
@Stephanie Ayers
@Esmé Cowles
@Kate Lynch
@Kevin Reiss
Agenda and Notes:
(Kate) MASC Update and next steps - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1naN-hGkN16LYPCO1O0bnSPrEhIy_pfoJ
Kate finally got access to the database with help from Kevin and Phil, and has dumped the data to CSV files, and stored in Google Drive
Navi-cat was a helpful tool.
Options for making this database searchable to stakeholders
Standalone access databases are unpalatable
Maintain a MSSQL server available for reading in the foreseeable future
Google database studio also has mssql drivers, Kate will look into that if it is
Access also can connect to mysql database
Long-term maybe Azure could be a place for these databases to live
(Kevin) Voyager/SFX/Meridian Update
Voyager - already network unplugged Voyager test server
Have gathered all use cases for what we want to extract from Voyager
Will be a series of flat files
These will be large files; not sure if we need to develop a method where people can have basic search functionality across these
EUS has other priorities immediately but hopefully folks will be able to extract this data for staff soon
May need to renegotiate network unplug to early December
Staff data requests: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IGLFcvLXzXVFzy75XUMCoc7ZZY-0-knXpoxjGtPtUP4/edit#gid=0
SFX migration - leaving this for now;
The two staff who use SFX data are still using it daily
The license is already expired; we may be able to keep the application going until the end of the fiscal year
Further negotiations may be needed
Meridian:
Extracted all of the data; meeting with Joe next week about his specific use case that may need a small custom report
May need to renegotiate network unplug to early December
(Kevin) lib-dbserver update
Down to 1 application that is still using this for the frontend
Carolyn working on new version of lockers and carrels application hopefully will be completed this week with probably minor adjustments next week.
(Esmé) PUDL
Down to last few collections
Francis is working on redirects
Some pushback from Mudd on a few collections; they have until Thanksgiving to deal with these, after which point we will turn it off.
Hoping to turn off the server by Thanksgiving
