2021-09-16 Meeting

Agenda and Notes:

  • (Kate) Video reserves update
    • Low priority to replace
    • Letting Panopto adoption settle in the library may have a positive impact to sunset this
    • Mostly used for printing sequesting slips for DVD cases now
  • (Kate) MASC update
    • Next steps: talk to Alexis about retirement of the server; we had assumed we could decommission after the ASpace migration.
    • Dark archive has been created and moved to S3 pul-archivedbackups
    • Most of the data has been migrated to another system
    • Low tech potential solution: convert to spreadsheets and park somewhere for SC staff to use.
  • (Steph) Update on Voyager (and corresponding applications) decommissioning
    • 01 October 2021?
    • Read only Meridian user has been created and credentials given to Kevin; hopefully this helps expedite the sunsetting process.
  • (Steph) lib-ruby-prod decommission?
    • Verify – can we do this?  Steph will check with Kevin.
  • (Steph) SVN decommissioning - this is happening soon, correct? I am told new users were added recently to support a new(?) workflow. Why are we adding users if this is going to be retired? Unless the users are assisting in the decommissioning?
    • Shaun adds users to SVN now.  Trey asked Stephanie about this.
    • The SVN directory tree has an old copy of the data.  There are also scripts that Regine wrote that others want access to.
    • Esmé will talk to Trey about https://github.com/pulibrary/pulfalight/issues/467; once this is fulfilled we should be able to decommission the SVN server and replace the SVN workflow with a Git-based one.
