Duplicate a Record

Duplicate Record

The menu option Record Actions > Duplicate Record creates a carbon copy of the record you have opened in the Main Pane.

Duplicate record copies the 001, 010, 035, etc., so you should immediately remove any of these fields that are specific to the original record only.

Derive New Record

The menu option Record Actions > Derive New Record does not mean the same thing in Alma as Edit > Derive > New Master Record does in Connexion.

In Alma, this allows you to to create a new bibliographic record based on the related bibliographic record (host/constituent entries). It includes the relations supported by either the 773 or 775 field.
