Updating e-Serial Holdings
Use this procedure to update the coverage information for an e-serial title, in cases where the collection it belongs to has not changed.
- Search in the IZ by Electronic Title to locate the relevant title.
- Check the bibliographic information to make sure any additional holdings belong to this title and not an earlier/later one. If this information is not visible from the search results screen, it may be necessary to click on the title to view the full bib record.
- Select Portfolio List to display all the title's portfolios, and locate the relevant one.
- Select Edit Portfolio to open the electronic portfolio editor.
- Select the Coverage tab.
- Click on:(Skip this step if local information already exists and will be updated rather than added.)
- Enter new coverage information in the boxes provided. Generally, year and (if available) volume are sufficient unless coverage starts/ends in the middle of a year; fields for more specific information can just be left blank. Leave "until" fields blank if coverage is current and continuing. In some cases it may be appropriate to substitute a global embargo/rolling year.
- Scroll back up and under "Which coverage statement will be applied?" click the radio button for Only local.
- At top right click on Save.
- Select Test Access and click through to at least one full text article within the new holdings range to verify access.
To remove local coverage information previously entered:
- Follow initial 5 steps above, through to the Coverage tab.
- In the Local Date Information section, click the ellipsis (...) and select Delete.
- Scroll back up and under "Which coverage statement will be applied?" click the radio button for Only global.
- At top right click on Save.
