Getting Started with Fulfillment

Please watch this video first:

As suggested in the video, follow these steps to get set up:

  1. Bookmark the link to Alma in your preferred browser. Instructions can be found on the PUL confluence page called Preferred Web Browsers. Here is the Alma link: https://princeton.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/SAML
  2. Log into Alma using your NetID. If you log in to any other system that uses CAS in your browser, your browser should remember those credentials and automatically log you in, which makes switching from one CAS system to another easier. If you set your browser to automatically clear cookies or the cache at close, it will not remember your device and you will have to use the 2-factor authentication each time.
  3. In the upper right corner, click on the location icon. Make sure it is set to your current circulation desk. To see what your location is at a glance, click on the Always show location box. Your location can affect what options you see and what actions you can take in Alma, especially for circulation and work order functions. If you aren't able to complete a task, check where your location is set first and choose the correct location for the work you're doing.
  4. Also in the location icon, check the “enable quick printing” box. This allows you to print through your web browser to your local printer. This is very important to make sure that you are able to print hold slips and transit slips for circulation.
  5. Finally, to make your work a bit more efficient, we recommend creating Quick Links for Alma menu items so that you can access these features easily. Creating a Quick Link is like bookmarking a page or tool.
  6. You can access the Quick Links Menu by clicking the Alma icon at the top of the left-hand toolbar, which has an image of a list and a star. There are 2 methods of adding items to your Quick Links:
    1. Open the Quick Link menu and use the search bar to find a menu item. Hover your mouse over the item and you will see a grey star. Click on the grey star to make it blue.
    2. From the Main Menu, view any of the sub-menus. Hover your mouse over the item and you will see a grey star. Click on the grey star to make it blue.
  7. You can pin your Quick Links so that they persist as a new horizontal menu under the persistent search bar. To do so, open the Quick Links menu and choose the Pin option.
