Procedures:
- Mark call number in pencil on cassette label. If there is no label, use a permanent marker (Sharpie brand)
- For Property Marking:
- On a Binding and Preservation Services Advice Slip, write:
- "Please property stamp cassette".
- If softbound, it can be bound with the print item. Items should be kept securely together. On the Binding and Preservation Service Advice slip instruct prebindery to bind together.
- If hardbound, a separate case will be made for the cassette. Items should be kept securely together. On the Binding and Preservation Service Advice slip instruct prebindery to have a case made as large as the book.
- In this instance the item will be treated as a multipart item. To reflect this in the catalog record, create item records for each physical unit, put text in the item enum field for a single bound volume and cassette for the accompanying material. Use tape to attach a piggy back barcode to the accompanying material, and scan the barcode number in the item record.
- It is not necessary to write the word text as part of the call number for the volume(s).
