Please be aware that in Alma test, there are some duplicate locations. In those cases, you will see the locations displayed both under the ReCAP library and its new owning library. This will go away after go live. For now, the obsolete ReCAP locations will have DO NOT USE in their names.

ReCAP Locations Codes: Alma vs Voyager

In Alma, some ReCAP locations are treated differently than they were in Voyager. In Alma, ReCAP locations that are restricted to a specific library for delivery need to be part of that library and therefore cannot be found under the ReCAP Library in the location lists.

In some record displays, the location names look very similar to how we are used to seeing them in Voyager.

In others it might be a bit harder to distinguish that this is a recap item.

In physical item displays it is much more similar to what we are used to seeing.

When you place an order, catalog, transfer, or search for an item for one of these locations, you need to know to which library the ReCAP location is associated with to find them easily in location lists or how to enter correctly into the 852 field.

Input library and location codes

Library codes are entered into 852 $$b and the location code into $$c

For example, this is how a RCPPJ item would be entered -
