⮚Changes to the Authorized Access Point

Changes to the authorized access point may constitute a major change even though the title proper has remained unchanged (RDA 6.1.3.2 and the corresponding LC-PCC PS).

Changes to corporate bodies that are used as authorized access points (fields 110/111) or as qualifiers for preferred titles (field 130) may result in major changes.

There are two possible situations: (a) The name of the body has changed (requiring a new authorized access point); (b) A different body becomes responsible for the serial (this situation occurs less often).

⮚Changes to the Qualifier of the Preferred Title When the Qualifier is a Corporate Body

Make a new description when a corporate body that is used as a qualifier for a preferred title (field 130) changes (the name of the corporate body changes or a new corporate body becomes responsible for the serial).

⮚Changes to the Preferred Title Associated with Different Language Expressions or Editions

Make a new description for a serial whose original title (as reflected in the preferred title for the serial work), has changed even when the title of the expression (field 245) has not changed. This also applies to language editions when the title upon which the preferred title for the serial work is based changes. (CCM:16.3.3)
