CONSER practice is to provide a Variant title (246 field) for a portion of the title when a user might consider this portion to be the Title proper or when an additional access point will improve overall access. (RDA 2.3.6; see also LC-PCC PS 2.3.6.3).
Parallel title. The Parallel title proper is a core PCC element according to LC-PCC PS 2.3.3. Give a variant access point for parallel titles appearing in the title statement or in a note, supplying a separate Variant title (246) for each.
