LibGuides & LibCal: RSS Feeds

You can embed a live calendar feed (RSS Feed) from any calendar in LibCal that has events labeled by category into a LibGuide using a widget called RSS Feeds. 

1. Go to your calendar of choice in LibCal (e.g. Events and Workshops). In the top set of tabs, choose the tab called Embed/Export.

2. Once in Embed/Export, choose the drop-down called RSS Feeds. In the Events by Category drop down, choose the category you would like from the menu (e.g. Open Research). Then, copy the URL that generates underneath that box.


3. Go to your LibGuide in editing mode. In the box where you would like to place the calendar feed, click on the menu called "Add / Reorder." Then choose RSS Feed from the menu options.  

4. You can then give your feed a name, and in the Feed URL box, you can paste that link that was generated and copied in step 2. You can then configure the settings for how you'd like the events to display within the box.

5. Click the Save button at the bottom. This will now live-update with any events that are added/deleted in the calendar in the category you've chosen.
