CKB release notes
The Central Knowledgebase (CKB) release notes are issued weekly. The SeERs team checks the notes to learn in advance about planned deletions and other major changes of collections that are activated in our Institution Zone.
Identifying affected IZ collections, step-by-step guide:
Go to the ALMA CKB release notes webpage.
Click on the most recent date set, it opens in a new Tab.
In the new Tab, check the week and date on the top left corner of each notification. (Some errors might occur.)
Ex-Libris updates this page weekly by adding new information on the top. Since we review this page weekly, it is only necessary to go through the top part of the page that was not done previously, marked with the current week number and date.

E-collections name change
E-collections becoming Zero-title databases in week …
Databases becoming full text
Databases to be removed in week …
These categories might appear multiple times within the week, e.g. multiple deletions could be scheduled for different weeks.
Collections listed in these categories need to be looked up in ALMA:
Search within the Community Zone by the given CZ collection ID number
look for the blue house icon
note that CZ ID differs from the IZ ID of the same collection
or search in the Institution Zone by collection name
Copy-paste the collection name to ensure the exact match
Only matches of the entire collection name are relevant
The collection in IZ might have been renamed and given a local name. In this case, the original CZ name will appear in parentheses and this is the one to be checked for a match.
Resolving identified issues:
If the collection number reported in the CKB notes (under the abovementioned categories) is found to be active in the Institution Zone, it needs to be further investigated and IZ updates may be needed. Steps to resolution vary according to the type of change and the specific situation. It is a case by case decision, but here are some examples of evaluation steps:
E-collections to be removed in week …: is it a free collection or not; evaluate suggested or researched replacement collections, existing IZ overlaps. Collection might need to be localized.
E-collections name change: might need a local override - follow SeERs conventions, e.g. indicate if collection is free; choose less confusing name, no repetitions in the name, etc.
E-collections becoming Zero-title databases in week …: to retain title level information, these collections might need to be exported and localized.
Databases becoming full text: acquire title list if possible, search for possible CZ portfolios, CZ/OCLC records.
