While a spreadsheet for importing may have multiple sheets, by design Alma will only look at the first one. Each column corresponds to a value in the MARC Record. For the Latin American Import Profile these fields are used to various degrees. Upon a match being discovered each instance is handled manually to determine if the record should be imported or merged. Skipping the record altogether is not an option since these are for Approval Plans and the material is coming regardless.

Use these vendor specific templates here,

Basic information is provided from the vendors in a spreadsheet obtained by email. There is some variety in the information and format they provide. In order to mitigate these differences and ensure a usable POL is created use the template corresponding to the source vendor here. Make the changes as directed by the template and save to a new document. Remember that when pasting we want to use ‘Paste as Values’. As a general rule we want to remove dashes from ISBNs and Invoice numbers. We also want to manually add vendor code and vendor account.

The point of this spreadsheet loader is to allow for the creation of Purchase Order Lines and brief Bib Records with Holdings and Items. This will remove the work to do this manually one at a time, and allow for quicker invoice payments and a smoother copy cataloging experience.
