--DRAFT, under review and revision--
Mission
The Library Education and Training Committee (LETC), in collaboration with library and campus affiliates, provides a structured and consistent annual calendar of training, learning, and skill development opportunities for library staff. These educational offerings are intended to develop or enhance each employee’s job-related skills and career paths. LETC is committed to empowering Library staff in pursuit of individual goals and organizational objectives.
Charge
As noted in Article XI of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Princeton University and PULA, “training is an activity that is used to develop or enhance an employee’s job-related skills in the position they are currently holding or to assist the employee in the advancement of the employee’s career.”
The charge of LETC is based upon the CBA, and will be reviewed and refreshed in accordance with any changes made to said agreement.
LETC will:
Organize, promote, and hold trainings, workshops, and other events that will serve to develop or enhance an employee’s job-related skills in the position they are currently holding or to assist in the advancement of the employee’s career.
Program such educational offerings on a reliable schedule and a predictable basis throughout the year.
Solicit input from staff, managers, and library leaders to develop programming that is tailored to the needs of PUL as an organization and to staff members as individuals.
Serve as a connection to and promoter of training opportunities offered by campus partners such as HR and OIT.
Establish measurable goals for each training year (June-May) and produce an annual report that addresses said goals, which will be presented to Library leadership and PUL as a whole on an annual basis.
Collaborate with other Library and University groups on matters of common interest that fall within the group’s scope.
